The days of war are upon us. A cloud shaped like a clenched fist looms menacingly over Franconia. The ‘Cannon Fever’ Regiment is preparing to march across Europe – not as conquerors, but as a reminder of the horrors of past battles.
From 18 November to 11 December, we will be bringing the war to the stage over 23 days. With thunder, smoke and the clang of steel, we recount the front lines of the First World War and the fates of those who lost their lives, their hope or their humanity in its flames.
This will be no triumphal march. There are no heroes. What remains is despair, ash and smoke.
